            UTICA, MICHIGAN – January 17, 2005 – Simply Self Storage is pleased to announce the opening of its latest facility, in Utica, a northern suburb of Detroit, Michigan.  This multi-million dollar, fully climate controlled, state-of-the art facility comprises 594 units in its initial phase with over 60,000 net rentable square feet of storage.  The property contains a weather protected drive up area for loading and unloading, covered RV parking and a fully functional Business Center with free internet access, printer and fax capabilities for its tenants. 

Simply worked side by side with local officials and residents to overcome onerous zoning restrictions and braved a harsh Michigan winter to complete the beautiful facility.  “This site is our first Simply in Detroit,” noted company Founder and President, Kurt O’Brien.  “We’re delighted to be open in this market and are looking forward to great success in this area.”  The company has two other facilities under construction in Detroit, in the suburbs of Wayne and Eastpointe.  Both of those facilities will open this spring.

The company is reviewing its strategic plans in conjunction with city officials to determine the best product for Phase 2 at the site.  Under consideration are additional climate controlled units, high security storage for sensitive documents and records, and wine storage.
